UnGeeked: A Milwaukee Social Media and Inbound Marketing Event

UnGeeked Elite: A Social Media and Marketing Forum kicks off in Milwaukee on Thursday, May 13 and runs through Saturday, May 15 at the University Club. The event will include eight nationally known speakers and also local social media and marketing experts will join together to speak, interact and participate with attendees.

unGeeked elite
The Keynote speakers are nationally and internationally known for social media, marketing and branding. The great thing about this event will be the fact that the presenters will have limited slide presentations and are expected to encourage the audience to ask questions and engage with the speakers. This won't be your typical conference and from everything we have read about the event will hopefully be something that will happen for years to come.

At Stream Creative we are very excited to attend the event with such a great lineup and especially to hear Hubspot talk about inbound marketing.

For more unGeeked event information and registration check out Sohobiztube.com:

Keynote Speakers:
  • Olivier Blanchard - The Brand Builder and Red Chair Group
  • Jason Falls - Social Media Explorer - Marketing and PR
  • Dan Schawbel - Personal Branding Guru, Best Selling Author, Columnist for Business Week
  • Sally Hogshead - Best Selling Author of FASCINATE  Marketing Consultant and Opt In Columnist
  • Visible Technologies - Social Media Monitoring and Customer Relationship Management
  • Chris Brogan - Best Selling Author, Trust Agents and Social Media Guru
  • Hubspot - Inbound and Outbound Marketing Strategist and Experts
  • Scott Stratten - Stop Marketing and Start Engaging "The UnMarketing Way."
To follow what's going on with the event you can check out videos on youtube or follow the hashtag #unGeeked on twitter. Thank you to Sohobiztube.com for bringing an event like this to Milwaukee!

Milwaukee Gallery Night Goes Social On Foursquare Day

This past weekend Milwaukee hosted the quarterly event Gallery Night and Day which featured 66 venues throughout the downtown Milwaukee area. It always draws a great crowd and this year Journal Sentinel asked people to help "check in" to art galleries on Foursquare to help draw attention to the local art scene in Milwaukee. What a great way to promote the event, galleries and artists as well as celebrate the first Foursquare Day. By checking in to 10 different galleries a person could also unlock the Warhol badge. People also used the hashtag #galnite on twitter to promote the event in the days before the weekend as well as for touching base with other people during the event. For more information on what you missed this past weekend check out the Art City blog.

What is Google Buzz?

Google just released it’s new social media product called Google Buzz this Tuesday for most Gmail users. We just started looking into our Stream Profile with google Buzz today and just like everyone else have questions on what are it’s capabilities and how to get started. Here’s a list of some interesting articles that seem to give a good overview for both what it is and how to use it. Please leave a comment if you have any other good resources about it and if you think you are going to give it a try, we’d love to follow you.
